Volunteer With Your Pet

For Dogs

Does your dog reliably and consistently:

Sit
Down
Stay
Come when called
Respond to its name
React appropriately to other animals (no jumping, aggressiveness, fearfulness, extreme excitability)
Walk well on a leash (no pulling, crossing sides, walking well using flat collar – no prong collars, harnesses, etc.)
** Please Note: Pets on a raw protein diet are unable to participate in the PAWS program due to the possibility of spreading bacteria to vulnerable patients.

For Cats/Bunnies

Is your cat or bunny:

Comfortable being handled by multiple people?
Comfortable with other animals (i.e., is able to be in the same room as a dog or cat or other bunny)?

If not, you may want to work on socializing your cat or bunny before starting the application process. If you are unsure, contact the PAWS office to discuss further.
